More than 20 hurt in road mishap

More than 20 passengers were injured when a private bus overturned and fell into a roadside ditch near Stkoha village on Amritsar-Pathankot highway on Saturday.

As per the police, the driver of the Gurdaspur-bound bus had to apply breaks abruptly following the sudden entry of a motorcycle from a link road. The injured were admitted to the primary health centre at Naushehra Majja Singh and civil hospital, where the condition of five passengers was stated to be serious.

Those riding on the motorcycle have been identified as Manni, his brother Sunny and their mother Nirmal, who were also injured in the accident and were admitted to the civil hospital here. Seriously injured Manni has been referred to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar.
