The police booked a murderer for violating parole on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Rajesh Kumar of Gulchaman Gali, Bangru Mohalla.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Jagjit Singh at Division Number 3 police station said the accused was booked in a murder case on March 5, 2006, in Sarabha Nagar area. He was convicted and had got life imprisonment in the case, and was serving the imprisonment at Central Jail, Ludhiana.
He availed parole on June 4, 2013 for four weeks, and was supposed to return to jail on July 3, but he violated the parole as he never returned.
A case under sections 8 and 9 of the Punjab Good Conduct Act has been registered against the accused at Sarabha Nagar police station.
