Nigerian woman, aide held with 1-kg heroin in Khanna

The Khanna police arrested a foreign national and her aide and recovered 1-kg heroin from their possession during a special checking on Thursday. The heroin was in 10 small packets all weighting of 100 gm each.
The woman has been identified as Kendra Leo, a Nigerian national, and her accomplice Abhishek Kumar Pandey, of Rohini of New Delhi. A case under Section 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against both the accused.
Deputy inspector general (DIG, Ludhiana range) Gursharan Singh and Khanna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal said that it is the third incident in the last few days where a foreigner national has been arrested in connection with drug-peddling.
The DIG added that the police had laid a checkpoint at Canal Bridge at Doraha on Thursday morning, when they stopped a Wagon-R car for checking and recovered the contraband.
The DIG added that as per preliminary investigation, the Nigerian woman had come to Delhi some days ago on a tourist visa. The accused had procured contraband from Delhi and were going towards Jalandhar to sell it among the addicts. The SSP added that more important information has been expected from the accused in the questioning.
