Now, DSGMC to erect own memorial to 84' riot victims
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Saturday announced that it would get constructed in New Delhi a memorial dedicated to the 3,000-odd persons who died during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the national capital following the then prime minister Indira Gandhi's assassination.

Announcing this after the dedication of Operation Bluestar memorial in the Golden Temple to the Sikh community, DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK said that the Sikh body would earmark the land for this memorial and, if need be, even purchase it.
SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar has assured the DSGMC of all help for the construction of this memorial.
