The incident occurred around 6 am, when one Milkhi Ram objected to the high volume of religious songs being played in his neighbour Darshan Kumar's house. Milkhi Ram, along with his son Rajesh, had a scuffle with Kumar, after which the latter fell unconscious, police said.

Assistant commissioner of police Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu said Kumar was rushed to a doctor nearby, who declared him brought dead. There was no sign of injury on Kumar's body and it seems that he died of cardiac arrest, the ACP said, adding that the body was sent to the civil hospital for the post-mortem to know the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, a case under sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 323 (causing injury) and 352 (trespassing) has been registered against Milkhi Ram and his son Rajesh, the ACP said. The suspects are absconding and efforts are on to arrest them, he added.
