Patiala MC commissioner told to submit compliance report

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday asked the Patiala municipal commissioner to submit a compliance report on its directions to remove illegal hoardings under the area of the civic body’s jurisdiction. In case of non-compliance, the MC commissioner has been told to remain present in the court on January 15 — the next date of hearing.

The HC also asked deputy commissioners of Gurgaon, Kaithal, Rewari and Faridabad to submit compliance report on removal of illegal hoardings from the national highways under their jurisdiction.

The single-judge bench of justice Rajive Bhalla also directed the DCs of these districts to remain present in the court on January 15.

The court had on various occasions issued directions in this regard — the latest being on November 6. During the hearing, the court was told that its orders had not been complied with.
