Badal told reporters here, "People are fed up with inflation, corruption and anti-people policies. The way the Congress has been wiped out shows they have made up their mind to get rid of the party."
Giving credit to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Badal said, "The Modi factor played a pivotal role in these elections. This was the semi-final and the NDA will win the 2014 Lok Sabha elections."

Satisfied with the performance of the Shiromani Akali Dal candidates in the Delhi elections, Badal said, "Out four seats, we won three. The one we lost had some reasons. Overall, I'm very satisfied and pleased that my party did well in Delhi."

Asked if the Aam Aadmi Party's good show in Delhi, he said, "It was just that the people voted against the Congress. Some voted for the AAP and others for the BJP. The thing is all voted against the Congress."
