Phagwara: Student found hanging

A 21-year-old student was found hanging at his rented accommodation at Sapror village in Phagwara on Tuesday, with the police suspecting he might have committed suicide.

A 21-year-old student was found hanging at his rented accommodation at Sapror village in Phagwara on Tuesday, with the police suspecting he might have committed suicide.

The deceased Sumit was studying at a private university here and belonged to Saptari in Nepal, police said.

His neighbours said they found Sumit's room bolted from inside, when they peeped into his room from the window, they found Sumit hanging inside, after which police was called.

No suicide note was found from his room, police said.

The youth's body has been sent for post-mortem and police are waiting for the arrival of his parents.
