Pingalwara society holds blood donation camp

The All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (AIPCS) held a blood donation camp on Monday, on the eve its founder Bhagat Puran Singh's 22nd death anniversary. Giani Mal Singh, jathedar, Takht Keshgarh Sahib, and Tarundeep Kaur, deputy commissioner, Income Tax, inaugurated the camp. A total of 215 units of blood were collected.

Representatives of Bhagat Puran Singh Blood Donation Society, Punjab Youth Forum, volunteers of the NSS wing of Amritsar Engineering College, Manawala; Sahibzada Jhujhar Singh Gurmat Missionary College Chaunta, Rupnagar; and medical teams from Guru Nanak Dev Hospital and Sri Guru Ram Das Hospital, participated in the event.

Dr Inderjit Kaur, president, AIPCS, said the blood collected during the camp would be used for the benefit of Pingalwara inmates and other patients, who need to be administered blood to save their lives. An exhibition of artefacts prepared by the inmates and students of Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh School, School for Deaf and Dumb Children and students of the School for Special Education was also organised on the occasion.
