President to address NIT, IIT students through video conferencing

The President of India will deliver a New Year message to the students and faculty of all national institutes of technology (NITs), Indian institutes of technology (IITs) and central universities through video conferencing on January 7, S K Das, director, Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, said here on Thursday.

The President of India will deliver a New Year message to the students and faculty of all national institutes of technology (NITs), Indian institutes of technology (IITs) and central universities through video conferencing on January 7, S K Das, director, Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, said here on Thursday.

"The conferencing will start at 12pm and the President will address the students and faculty for 15 minutes. The programme begins with national anthem at after which a welcome address by Prof SS Murthy, vice-chancellor, Central University of Karnataka, will be delivered followed by President's address," he added.


He said that the President's message would focus on encouraging students and faculty on taking up new research and development projects apart from New Year greetings.
