The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) co-ordination committee held the protest against the government's decision to sell PSPCL's prime 32-acre land for a downtown project.

The employees held gate rallies and then marched towards the Clock Tower and burnt the effigy. The members of the co-ordination committee said the department should understand that transferring the land would not benefit the society.

“This would halt the overall functioning of the department as shifting the office to some different place would create inconvenience for employees,” they said.

Member of the committee Bhupinder Khosla, Sukhvir Singh Walia, Prakash Singh, Man Swaran Singh, Jageer Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Gopal Singh, Pawan Kumar, Rachpal Singh, Kashmeer Singh, Baldev Singh, Balwinder Singh Bajwa, Kaur Chand, Jaswant Singh and Ravinder Jit Singh were present.
