Punjabi folk singer dies in road accident

Renowned Punjabi folk singer Sukhraj Aujla aka Santokh Aujla of the Aujla brothers fame died in a road accident near Kala Afgana village on Batala-Fatehgarh Churian road on Sunday.

Renowned Punjabi folk singer Sukhraj Aujla aka Santokh Aujla of the Aujla brothers fame died in a road accident near Kala Afgana village on Batala-Fatehgarh Churian road on Sunday.

Sukhraj Aujla (45) and his wife, Ranjit Kaur, were returning to their native village, Aujla, from his in-laws' house at Marid Ke village when he lost control over his car and it collided with a tree on the roadside.

Fatehgarh Churian DSP Kirpal Singh said Aujla and his wife received serious injuries in the accident. Aujla was admitted to Escorts Hospital at Amritsar, where he succumbed to his injuries. His wife was admitted to a private hospital in Amritsar and her condition was stated to be out of danger.

Sukhraj Aujla and his brother Anokh Aujla had performed in the different parts of the country and abroad.
