Association chairman Sher Singh said people were already under “immense financial burden” due to high prices. “The property tax is another example of the wrong policies adopted by the Centre and state government,” he said.

Association general secretary BR Dhawan said there was still time for the government to reconsider its decision and exempt residential properties from the tax.
