Railway supdt held for graft

The vigilance arrested a railway superintendent of the Bathinda railway station while accepting a bribe from railway employee Prakash Chand Kishori Lal. The superintendent had demanded Rs 50,000 from the complainant for forwarding the file of his daughter for a job in the railways.

Bathinda vigilance SSP Sukhdev Singh Chahal said, "The deal was struck for Rs 40,000 and the complainant had already paid Rs 10,000 and now he paid Rs 25000 to the accused. We conducted the raid and caught the accused red-handed."
