The accused were remanded in police custody after they were arrested last week following a public outrage over the brutal gangrape and murder of a mentally challenged 28-year-old woman who had come here from Nepal for her treatment in December and was living at her sister's place.

Meanwhile, police said that they had recovered as evidence several items used by the accused in committing the rape and murder of the woman, who went missing on February 1 and was found murdered in the agricultural fields of Bahu-Akbarpur village on Rohtak-Hisar road on February 4.
