Rs 64-cr project to provide more water to Hamirpur, says Butail

Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail on Sunday said Hamirpur town and its suburbs would get additional water with a new water supply scheme to be set up at a cost of Rs 64 crore.

Butail was presiding over a Republic Day function at local boys' school ground, where he unfurled the Tricolour and took salute from contingents of the Himachal Pradesh police, home guards and cadets of the National Cadet Corps. He also inspected a colorful parade.

He said the state government was committed to provide potable water to every household. After completion of the ambitious project, people of the town would get 135 litre water per person per day till 2044, he added.

Paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters, Butail said the people of India would not forget their contributions for time immemorial.

He also honoured freedom fighters and children, who participated in various programmes.

Such functions were also held at various sub-divisional headquarters, where sub-divisional magistrates were the chief guest.
