The protesters raised slogans against the state government alleging that a cable mafia was working in the state that was preventing people from getting information critical of the government, which amounts to attack on the freedom of press.

District president of party Parminder Singh Balianwali said that the suspension of services of the channel was an attack on the freedom of press. The activists also submitted a memorandum to the Punjab governor through district administration in this regard.
