SAD worker dies in road mishap
A Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker died in a road mishap at Jalandhar bypass on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Iqbal Singh, 47, of Nanak Nagar, Salem Tabri. The accident took place after his scooter rammed into a tractor-trolley. The passers-by took him to a hospital but he succumbed before reaching there.

A Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker died in a road mishap at Jalandhar bypass on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Iqbal Singh, 47, of Nanak Nagar, Salem Tabri.
The accident took place after his scooter rammed into a tractor-trolley. The passers-by took him to a hospital but he succumbed before reaching there.
Iqbal Singh was going to Gurdwara Sahib to pay obeisance at around 1pm on his scooter amid heavy rainfall. He didn't notice the tractor-trolley and failed to apply breaks due to which his scooter rammed into it.
The Salem Tabri police have initiated investigation. Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sukhwinder Singh said the police have filed proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
