About 132 bottles were seized in Amargarh, after police stopped a Maruti Swift car for checking on the night of June 30.

Police said one of the passengers, Davinder Singh, was arrested, while three others - Gagandeep Singh, Nikka Singh and Hardeep Singh - fled.

Sub-inspector Teja Singh said all the accused are small time farmers and were selling the illicit liquor to make a quick buck. In the second incident, police arrested Mukesh Kumar alias Sonu (19) of ward no 10 from Dirba and seized 20 bottles of country-made liquor from him. Sonu was later released on bail.
