
Shergill murder: Cops shift probe on deceased’s kin
After questioning several people including some female friends in connection with the recent murder of Congress party leader Rajwant Shergill, the police has now turned its attention to his family members. The deceased’s wife, father and brother were quizzed on Monday.
According to a senior police officer, the police also searched Shergill’s room and found another photo album in his car in which his body was discovered.
“The photo g raphs in t he album were developed at a studio in Sector 15 in Chandigarh. While questioning its owner, it has come to light Shergill had ordered him to develop two negatives on May 15 and received both the copies on May 17. However, the studio owner denied delivering the photos to the deceased, saying he had developed four copies instead the other photos were still in his studio,” the police official stated..
He added it had now emerged Shergill was staying in the room alone for the past two years, which his wife denied during her interrogation.
Investigations have also revealed Shergill was having strained relations with wife, due to which both were living separately.
Meanwhile, superintendent of police Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said the cops were working on some leads and expected to crack the case soon.
