Sidhu unlikely to attend Modi rally
Ignored by Punjab BJP and the Akalis, Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu is unlikely to participate in the 'Fateh Rally' to be held at Jagraon on Sunday where BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be addressing.
"Till now, I have no communication with the Punjab BJP. Moreover, I know I am unwanted there so why would I go? I do not go uninvited," said the three-time Amritsar MP.
Sidhu, who had said that if Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal did not want him, he would opt out of the race for candidature yet again, said, "I continue to be like an MP in Oopposition. It is strange that the Akali Dal and BJP that are going to seek votes in the name of Modi saab in coming elections, are ignoring their MP who won thrice."

Should the BJP field Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar again?
On a question that why he needs an invite as it was the rally of his own party, Sidhu said, "They (state government) don't invite me to inauguration functions in a city from where I am MP. I know I am unwanted. So why would I go." "I am not running away from my duty, and will continue to be a soldier of the party and work for it," said the MP.
However, the MP's wife, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who is CPS in Punjab Government is going to attend the Modi Rally along with her supporters and party workers.
