Even as the Akal Takht is yet to react on the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s report on the issue of Sikh politicians seeking support from the Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda in the state assembly elections, the parallel ‘jathedars’ on Thursday held such leaders “guilty” of violating the Takht ‘hukamnama’ (religious edict).

The jathedars appointed by radicals had asked these politicians belonging to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Congress to appear before them at the highest temporal seats of the Sikhs, but nobody appeared when they assembled there. They said they would now pronounce religious punishment to the “guilty” on April 20.
