Six booked in land grab case

Police have booked six residents of Deep Singh Wala village for reportedly firing ata group of people that had visited the village to get back land allegedly grabbed by them.

Police have booked six residents of Deep Singh Wala village for reportedly firing ata group of people that had visited the village to get back land allegedly grabbed by them.

Jarnail Singh, 70, a farmer from the village had complained to the Faridkot deputy commissioner that in October that Sukhmander Singh, a resident of Deep Singh Wala, and others cheated him and fraudulently got his one acre land registered in his wife's name.

After an inquiry, Sukhmandar Singh was booked for cheating on January 18.

Besides Sukhmandar, the others that have been booked are Tehal Singh, Gursewak Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Kulwant Singh and Pappu, under Section 336/188/148/149 (endangering life, disobedience, rioting with deadly weapon). Some other unidentified people have also been booked.
