Six die in roof collapse in Sonepat

Six people - five migrant labourers and a farmer - were killed as the roof of a farm house collapsed in Nizampur Majra village of Kharkhoda sub-division in Sonepat district on Sunday.

Six people - five migrant labourers and a farmer - were killed as the roof of a farm house collapsed in Nizampur Majra village of Kharkhoda sub-division in Sonepat district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Balbeer, a farmer of Nizampur Majra village, and migrant labourers Amit, Rohit, Devraj and Ashok of Uttar Pradesh, who had come to the village for paddy transplantation. One of the deceased labourers was yet to be identified.

One labourer was also injured in the incident. He was identified as Suraj and admitted to PGIMS Rohtak.

According to police, the roof of the two-storey farm house collapsed due to heavy rains. The police sent the bodies of the deceased for postmortem.
