Six-month murder case of widow solved

The local police claim to have solved a murder case, reported six moths ago with the arrest of three persons on Saturday. Gurdev Kaur, a 55-year-old widow, was found murdered in mysterious circumstances at her house on April 19 in Dirba, 30 km from Sangrur.

Gurdev Kaur, a 55-year-old widow, was found murdered in mysterious circumstances at her house on April 19 in Dirba, 30 km from Sangrur.

SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said that the accused, purportedly the neighbours of the victim, had barged into her house on the night of April 19 with intent to rape her. He added that the three were drug addicts and were in an inebriated state at the time of the crime. The accused have been identified as Satgur Singh, Karnail Singh and Raj Kumar.
