Tanzanian woman arrested with 300gm heroin in Samrala

The Samrala police arrested a Tanzanian woman after finding 300 gm heroin in her possession on Monday night.

The accused, identified as Shotal Clement, is a native of Dar Es Salaam city in Tanzania, and is currently residing at Rajpur Road in Chattarpur area of Delhi.

Khanna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal said a patrol team of police stopped the woman for checking at ITI Chowk. While frisking her bag, a woman constable found two packets containing 150 gm heroine each that were seized by the police officials.

She told the police that she had come to India to pursue a career in modelling, Mahal said, adding that they were interrogating the accused to know if she was part of a drug cartel.

“The accused used to purchase drugs from Delhi and sold it to addicts on higher rates in Punjab. She is suspected to be working for drug dealers,” the SSP said.

A police under Section 21-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered.
