Daba police have arrested three miscreants who had looted Rs 65,000 from a person on February 23 when he was in an auto rickshaw.

Police arrested Satyajit Singh, resident of Nanak Sar, Sukhwinder Singh resident of Mad Di Chakki and Gurpreet Singh, resident of Preet Nagar for the crime.

According to inspector Jatinder Singh of police station Daba, the three miscreants looted the person when he hired the auto rickshaw driven by Satyajit Singh near Pratap Chowk.

The police had installed a barricade at Jain Chowk at Daba upon receiving specific information regarding the three involved in different crimes. Police inspected the auto that they were riding and found the cash amount in their pockets.

Police found Rs 30,000 from the pocket of Satyajit, Rs 20000 from Gurpreet and Rs 15000 from Sukhminder.

A case was registered against them for the loot under Section 379 (theft) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Shimlapuri police station.

Satyajit and Gurpreet have several cases registered against them. Division number 2, 8, 5 and Sadar police station had registered cases against both the accused under Section 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt) and 379 of the IPC.
