Two die, six injured in road accident

Two people including a woman died on the spot and six others were injured when a Haryana Roadways bus in which they were travelling fell down into a deep gorge near Datyar village on Kalka- Shimla national highway under Parwanoo police station at 12.45pm on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Satinder Bhanu of Maharashtra while the woman could not be identified till filing of this report.

The injured, Jatinder Kaur of Lalru, Pankaj of Jind, Birbal Sahani of Dhuri and bus driver Jitender were rushed to ESI hospital, Parwanoo, and were later referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Police said, "The driver suddenly lost control over the bus and it rolled down into a deep gorge, leaving two passengers dead and a case has been registered."

Parwanoo deputy superintendent of police Susheel Sharma along with the team of doctors reached the spot and started the relief and rescue operations.

Later, deputy commissioner Madan Chauhan also visited the hospital and enquired the well being of the injured passengers.
