Following the directions of civil surgeon Dr Subash Batta, a health department team led by drugs inspector Sukhvir Chand swung into action and raided the medical stores on Pindi Street.

Chand said, "The market price of 24,192 capsules is nearly Rs 30,000. Moreover, the owners have failed to show the record of these capsules."

He said now the proceedings would take place against the defaulters under the drugs Act.
ACP central Ramneesh Chaudhary, division no 1 SHO Surinder Mohan and division no 2 SHO Gurpreet Singh also accompanied the team.

The raid came a day after the police arrested Kamaljeet Singh of Janakpuri Mohalla and recovered a cache of drugs from his possession. A case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The capsules were allegedly being used for intoxication.
