Prosecution counsel Rishi Bhardwaj pleaded before the court of Tripat Jot Kaur that rescue operations were on and bodies buried under the debris were yet to be recovered. Vij could manipulate the number of victims, he argued.

He added that police were yet to question Vij about alleged construction of factory building without sanction of site plan. The building contractor was also to be traced, Bhardwaj said. The prosecution had pleaded for seven-day police remand of Vij.

Vij's counsel Narinder Singh argued that police had already questioned Vij.

The industrialist would now be produced before the court on April 23.
