Waterlogging at Bharat Nagar Chowk, Ferozepur Road, Model Town, Ghumar Mandi and old city areas exposed the poor arrangements of municipal corporation (MC) for management of rainwater.

Within one hour of rain, water got logged up to two feet from road level in some areas, while even hiding dividers near Bharat Nagar Chowk.

As a result commuters faced harassment with several vehicles breaking down due to the water entering them, and pedestrians found it difficult to make way through the inundated roads.

Residents also complained of sewerage system getting blocked in Urban Estate.

“The problem of waterlogging has increased as compared to previous years, thanks to ignorance of the MC. My vehicle got stuck due to waterlogging near Gill Chowk,” said Jeevansidak Singh, a resident of Salem Tabri.
