The venue of the function is already wet and swampy after Saturday's rain. On Sunday, the sky was overcast here. Still, the administration has no plans to change the venue of the function government college stadium is considered the best venue from the security point of view.

Deputy commissioner said that as per meteorological department, Monday would be sunny in Gurdaspur on Monday. The function is likely to draw a big crowd of Christians from across the state. Sources said that Shiromani Akali Dal's district president Sucha Singh Langah was working overtime to arrange a mammoth gathering at the function.

Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal would try to woo the Christian votes by reminding them that it was Parkash Singh Badal, who, in 1997, decided to organize state-level functions on holy days of all faiths. Meanwhile, the government has sent a sum of Rs 3.50 lakh to the district administration to spend on the arrangements of the function. The tents have been specially brought from Amritsar as tent houses in Gurdaspur didn't have quality tents. The venue has a seating capacity of 15,000.
