Addressing a rally at Jagraon, Badal said: "Farmers are unhappy, economy is lagging behind, industry is collapsing and the only way to save this country is to make Modi the Prime Minister."

Slamming the Congress, he said that the ruling party has always shieled the people involved in the 1984 riots.

Praising state chief minister and his father Parkash Singh Badal, he said: "After Parkash Singh Badal became CM development happened in Punjab. Due to his hardwork Punjab is now power surplus"

He also urged the people to support Modi so that Congress should not be seen in Punjab.

"Our focus should be to make Modi PM," he said.
