Swachhata Kits distributed among school kids

Taking Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the flagship programme of the Narendra Modi government forward, the Jharkhand IAS Wives’ Association on Thursday distributed 220 ‘Swachhata Kits’ to students in three schools operating under the Pankh Yojna of the state government.
Each kit contained a toothbrush, shampoo, bathing soap, detergent cake, handkerchief, towel and a comb.
The main objective of the Pankh school scheme is to improve the literacy rate of poor families and reduce the drop out rate of kids belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
“Forty students each from Hatia Middle School, Jagannathpur Middle School and 135 students from Hindi Boys’ Middle School, Madhukam received these kits. The students were made aware about different aspects of sanitation, both personal and at public places. The students were also asked to take pledge of maintaining cleanliness,” an official said.
The function was attended by president of the Jharkhand IAS Wives’ Association, Nidhi Khare, Gayatri Singh (secretary), Ranjeeta Gangwar, Richa Sanchita, Manu Jha and Sweta Shukla among others.
