Jr NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa, in which he plays triple role, is off to a flying at the box-office worldwide. While the numbers are yet to be made official, reliable sources have confirmed the film has registered the second biggest opening in Telugu states after Baahubali 2 this year. The numbers are only going to get better as it’s a holiday weekend and the mostly positive word of mouth the film has earned so far will help in drawing audiences in hordes. Trade pundits believe that the opening day gross should be Rs 30 crore worldwide.

In the US, the film has minted over $500,000, even surpassing the lifetime gross of Jr NTR’s Janatha Garage and this kind of start means the film is looking at a very strong run. Playing three diverse characters, NTR won over audiences and critics alike. His negative-shaded character earned unanimous praise from every film goer. Even though it was an evil character, audiences loved how Jr NTR made it stand out with his terrific performance.

Directed by Bobby, who has teamed up with Jr NTR for the first time, the film also stars Nivetha Thomas and Raashi Khanna. Jr NTR was seen wearing prosthetic make-up for the role of Jai, who calls himself Raavan and he speaks with a stutter. The film marked the debut of Bollywood actor Ronit Roy, who played one of the antagonists. Produced by Kalyanram, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
