Mahanati actor Keerthy Suresh, who played the role of Savitri in the biopic was felicitated by Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Mahanati actor Keerthy Suresh was felicitated by the Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday. The actor has received raving reviews from critics, fraternity and the audience alike for bringing to life Savitri in the film, who is one of the most talented female actors of the 60s and 70s.

The official Twitter handle of the CM also posted a live video of the felicitation. Keerthy Suresh at the felicitation thanked her team and said, “Everybody has been a great support. I would love to thank my team, co artistes and the media.”

She also addressed the CM and said, “Thank you so much for having us here sir. I am short on words as I didn’t know I would be speaking here today.”

Also present during the occasion was Savitri’s daughter Vijayachamundeswari who also spoke a few words about her mother and the love she received from the Telugu people.

The success meet of Mahanati was also held on Wednesday where actors Vijay Deverakonda, Keerthy Suresh, director Nag Ashwin and producers Swanpa and Priyanka Dutt were present. The movie released on May 9 and has been running successfully in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The film saw Dulquer Salmaan play the role of Gemini Ganesan and Samantha played the role of a journalist named Madhuravani. Vijay Deverakonda was the photojournalist cast opposite Samantha in the film. Naga Chaitanya did a cameo and played the part of his grand father A Nageswar Rao in the film.
