Mersal teaser: Atlee gives us Vijay as a local leader and a magician

After a long wait, the teaser of Mersal has finally been released and guess what? It’s already trending worldwide. The 75-second teaser has everything that Vijay fans ever wanted to see in his film.
It begins with Vijay entering a workshop and using the welding machine, but this scene cuts into him beating up goons. The director Atlee has kept the premise very colourful as we see Vijay dancing and fighting his way through the video.
Mersal features Vijay in a triple role and he will be seen playing a Panchayat head, a doctor and a magician. SJ Suryah, who will also be seen in Mahesh Babu’s Spyder, is playing the antagonist and his role has been heavily guarded. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in key roles.
The teaser of Mersal is released on its director Atlee’s birthday. One of the most anticipated releases of this year, Mersal is slated to hit the screens this Diwali. The film marks Atlee’s second successive collaboration with Vijay after last year’s blockbuster Theri.
Made on a budget of Rs 130 crore, Mersal is the most expensive film in Vijay’s career, superseding Puli which was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore. The film has been dubbed in Telugu as Adhirindi which will have a simultaneous release.
