Kannada actor Dhruv Sharma passed away on Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The shocking news of Kannada actor Dhruv Sharma’s death left celebs across India shocked. The speech-and-heaing-impaired actor not only made his name in Sandalwood, he was also an accomplished cricketer and the vice-captain of Celebrity Cricket League. While the actor’s untimely demise was due to cardiac arrest, reports are now suggesting that Dhruv tried to commit suicide on July 29.

A Times of India report says the actor tried to kill himself by consuming poison. It further says that his father Suresh Sharma also told the police that his son might have tried to commit suicide due to financial losses. He was taken to hospital where he died on Tuesday morning. Suresh has also filed a police complaint in this regard.

Meanwhile, the actor’s last film Kichchu (Kicchu) is ready to be released and is a milestone in many ways. An adaptation of Pradeep Raj’s novel Hotti Uriva Kichchinalli, it deals with forests being destroyed in Karnataka and a man’s fight to stop this. While Dhruv plays the role of the hearing-and-speech-impaired person, his leading lady is also a woman who cannot speak. Interestingly, the film stars actor Abhinaya who is speech-and-hearing impaired in real life. This will be a first of its kind film in India, says a report in IB Times.

It comes three years after Ukrainian drama film The Tribe in which all the leading actors were speech-and-hearing impaired.

Meanwhile, celebs continued to mourn the death of Dhruv Sharma. Sudeep, who is the captain of CCL, wrote on Twitter, “Im unable to believe n accept tat he’s no more.Seeing him sleep like tat,not breathing is very heart shattering.A grt human n a special soul.” Sudeep was present at the hospital when Dhruv breathed his last.
