After impressing critics and audiences alike with her character Krishna in Nani’s Awe, Nithya Menen is eagerly looking forward to the release of her next film Praana, which is a film featuring a single actor.

Directed by VK Prakash, the film’s trailer was unveiled at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival where it featured at the film market. Apparently, the trailer was received very well and it is believed that the film has garnered good buzz.

In an earlier chat with Hindustan Times, Nithya opened up about the project. She said: “Originally made in Malayalam, it was also shot in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. It’s a one-actor film, which was shot in 23 days. I’m the sole character in the film. The whole experience was exciting, but equally draining because each scene had to be shot four times. I didn’t mind putting in the effort because I have so much to contribute.” Nithya also doubled up as a writer for this project. “The script was originally written in Malayalam. Since I know Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, I helped them get it translated and was actively involved in the writing process.”

The post-production is currently underway and the makers are planning the release in a big way. The film also features PC Sreeram and Resul Pookutty, who shot the film using sync sound. Nithya hasn’t signed any other new project since the release of Awe; however, she’s believed to be in talks for Mysskin’s next yet-untitled Tamil project.
