Mohanlal and host of popular stars from Kerala and elsewhere in the country wished fans on the occasion of Onam.regional movies Updated: Sep 14, 2016 16:43 IST
A host of celebrities wished their fans on Onam, the popular harvest festival of Kerala which also marks the homecoming of the righteous king Mahabali.
Leading the charge was Malayali heavyweight Mohanlal. The actor, dressed in a pink shirt, addressed Malayalis all over the world and wished them through a video message.
Popular female actors from the Malayalam film industry, who dressed up in their Kerala saris and finest of jewellery, posted messages of peace and prosperity on social media.
Lakshmi Menon dressed up in festive attire (one of which was in the Mohiniattam look) and wished all. Here’s what she wrote: May the spirit of Onam fill your life with love, prosperity and happiness. Happy Onam...
Kavya Suresh posted a picture of herself with a pookalam, the traditional rangoli made of flowers, in the background.
Premam girl Anupama Parameswaran too posted her pictures celebrating the festival.
Vaigha, seen in films like Kaliyachan and Elanjikavu PO, posted a picture of herself in a pretty Kerala sari and attractive gold earrings with an Onam message.
Sheelu Abraham, known for her roles in films such as She Taxi and Kanal, shared her picture with several children, all dressed in white and gold - the colours of the traditional Kerala saree.
Playback singer Gayatri Asokan, known for her songs such as Enthe Nee Kanna (Sasneham Sumitra), Chanjadi Adi (Makalkku), Thumbikkinnaram (Naran) and Pularumo (Ritu), too posted pictures of her family celebrating Onam and wished everyone happiness.
Looking quite cool in a traditional look was actor Unni Mukundan.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar posted a picture feasting on Onam Sadhya or the traditional meal served on the festive occasion and extended his greetings.
Bollywood’s Riteish Deshmukh too wished everyone on the festival with an impressive photo of an elephant, all decked up for Onam.
