Actor Umesh Kamat surprised all with his ‘nautanki’ act in Ye Re Ye Re Paisa

In a first in his career, Umesh Kamat attempted a role that is a complete contrast to what he has done so far. Surprising the actor as well, the film Ye Re Ye Re Paisa fared well at the box office and received tremendous response from the audience as well. The Mumbai Time (2016) actor was confident of his choice of roles, however, the reaction has been unexpectedly positive. “Honestly, I knew I was moving out of my comfort zone. But I wasn’t sure that the audience would accept it so well. I am glad I made the move and I will continue to do the unexpected now,” says Umesh, who will next be seen opposite Tejashree Pradhan in Asehi Ekada Vhave.

The actor adds that Ye Re Ye Re Paisa marked the first for his casting with Tejaswini Pandit and Siddharth Jadhav. The cast was confident that they had made a good film but they were not expecting it to hit houseful screens so soon. “The energy and vibe that we shared on the sets has completely translated on screen. The fun times between us helped make this film. Of course, Sanjay’s (Jadhav, director) trust in us made us fare better. We all treated it like our first film.”

This year, Umesh will be seen working the co-stars he hasn’t worked with before. Ask him if he is consciously picking new pairings and he says, “No, it’s not like that. I have been offered films with different people. And, that is a good thing, no?.” He adds that working with a new co-star helps you grow and learn so much. “You never know how the chemistry will click or how well a pairing works unless you have worked together. So, I am looking forward to working with different people.”
