Friendship Day is when we celebrate the beautiful bond we share with those who stand by us through both happy and difficult times.

While some of us have very few friends, there are others who have all sorts of different friend groups. We go out for meals with them, enjoy horror movies together, call them at 2 am to discuss “emergency matters” and cry on their shoulder when a break-up happens.

So don’t forget to gift your closest ones something special this Friendship Day! We can give you a few suggestions that may come handy, but at the end of the day, it’s you who has to decide what your friend would like best.

1. Personalised coffee mug

One way of reminding your friend of you every morning is to gift them a personalised mug. These are available at various gift stores as well as Internet stores. But of course, you need to think of something witty to write on the mug!

2. Memory book

This is something your friend would cherish forever. Search for some old photos of you together and make a small scrapbook out of it. Yes, you could do the same on Facebook, but an actual scrapbook has an old world feel that will add some special charm to the occasion.

3. Friendship Day card

A hand written card is something that your friends will save and keep with them forever. Think of some special moments you have shared with them and write it down in the card you make for your friend. Even better if it’s something they don’t remember at all!

4. Chocolates

Everyone loves chocolates. Well, almost everyone, we mean. And with the kind of variety in the market right now, you can surely shower them with all sorts of chocolates. And let them know that dark chocolate can make a person’s sex life better; they will always thank you for that!

5. Books

Just make sure they like the genre of book you have selected for them! (Shutterstock)

Is your friend a book nut? Then select 2-3 books from the nearest bookstore or just order them online. It’s a gesture they will surely appreciate. Just make sure they like the genre of book you have selected for them!
