Irrespective of your relationship status, here are five simple and basic resolutions that should be on every modern Indian woman's resolutions list for 2015.
Make date nights a priority: While it's only natural for date nights to take a back seat once you've been in a relationship for a while, it is important to keep the romance and relationship alive, by going on and taking turns organizing date nights. It could be as simple as a movie and dinner date night to a weekend getaway. Schedule it, try out new places and activities, and make this a regular feature. Not only will you get to spend quality time with your partner, preferably sans technology; you also get the chance to explore new and unexpected things.
Spend some quality time with friends: If you are new to a relationship, it's very easy to get consumed by it, and forget about your friends, and in the process alienate them. So instead of going down that route, make an effort to meet up with your friends (without the boyfriend in tow), and spend some much-needed quality time with them like you used to when you were single be it over a cup of coffee, or for some much needed retail therapy.
Be more appreciative: It's easy to take your significant other for granted and point out all the things that went wrong, but make a conscious effort not to do so. Instead, make a difference in 2015, with a heartfelt thanks or a high five, or a word of appreciation when he does something that you asked to be done, or if he took the initiative to do something. Either way, he will appreciate your gesture.
Some 'me' time: Due to circumstances or choice, we end up putting our needs on the backburner, and thus feel resentful after a period of time when we are unable to meet our needs, or have our needs met. To avoid this, pencil in some 'me' time. This could be well-deserved pampering at the spa or parlour to just relaxing and doing nothing. Or even starting a new activity or even picking up an old childhood hobby that you've been meaning to do, but never got around to it.
Gratitude Journal: While this may sound like a page from a book at the self-help section; you might want to think again. The wildly popular social experiment 100 Happy Days is a testament to that. We almost always focus on the bad things that happen to us, and we rarely focus on the good things that do. When you chronicle those events - be it a small or a massive milestone - you realise that you are in a much happier place, and as a result have a more positive outlook to life.
