Why should humans have all the fun, said one dog to another. Enter Tindog, a dating app for our furry pals. This recently launched app, with some 10,000 downloads already, works on the same principles like Tinder (a location-based match-making app).
Make a profile for your dog and based on your location, and you’ll get a series of prospective mates for your pooch in your vicinity. Swipe left to ignore and right to like. If both users swipe right, it’s a match and they can chat and meet up. “My dog loves play dates. It’s hard to connect with people with dogs. Great concept,” read a user review.
This app, which can be downloaded on Android and iOS, is proving useful already. “Finding a healthy mate for my dog was tough. Luckily, I found a perfect match for Peanut via this app,” says Subuhi Parvez, who has a four-year-old Lhasa Apso.
This app not only benefits the canines, but their owners too. You can chat with other dog lovers and start a connection based on this mutual love for pets. “I chatted with a girl who has the same passion for dogs as me,” says Saurabh Utneja, who dotes on his five-year-old Labrador.
Launched by a London-based website Holidog, the app has a few technical glitches, but hats off to them for the concept! Maybe now your furry friend can have a date like this:
