Teaching was considered the most noble of all professions. So this was the most ideal career for women, particularly married ones.

I’d always dreamt of doing a high-profile job. But an early marriage changed that. Home became top priority. I started tutoring some school students at home.

Gradually, I started with creative workshops. By then, most of my close friends had got bored with their nine to five jobs.

My teenaged daughters encouraged me to learn something new all the time. I enjoy seeing new faces every day. Some of them are tiny tots. There’s so much positive energy in them.

I like their approach to life. It keeps me in good spirits and prevents boredom. Teaching may not be the cream of professions but it’s a satisfying one. The best part about it is I’ve become my own boss.
