The secret to a long-lasting relationship is to know everything about your partner – his or her likes, dislikes, quirks and even addictions – according to a leading law firm.

London firm Bross Bennett lists the essential questions every couple should ask before they decide to wed or live together – such as ‘does he watch porn’ and ‘is she addicted to shopping’.

They should also find out how much money each of them has, how many children they want and whether they favour state or private education.

“Successful relationships are built on honesty and deceit on any scale is a betrayal of that basic principle. There is little point in building a future with someone if they are not prepared to be truthful,” the Daily Mail quoted Ruth Bross, partner at the law firm, as saying.

According to website unbiased.co.uk, searches for divorce lawyers hit the peakin January. The site found an almost 10 per cent increase on December in those going online to find details of legal advisors specialising in break ups.
