AHMEDABAD: Riding on Kuldeep Singh’s raiding abilities and Jasvir Singh tough tackling, Australia thrashed Argentina 68-45 in their 2016 Kabaddi World Cup encounter on Wednesday.

Kuldeep ended the night with 14 points for Australia whereas Jasvir scored 11 points.
Mariano Pascual scored 10 points for the South American side but in vain.
Despite the win, Australia are fifth in Group A with five points from three matches while Argentina remain winless and bottom of the table after two matches.
Australia got off to a flier, going up 7-3 after just four minutes. Just two minutes later, Australia inflicted an all-out to take a 12-4 lead.
From there they never saw back, taking a healthy 36-18 at the end of the first half.
In the other match of the day, Japan edged past Poland 33-22. Thanks to the win, Japan stayed in contention for a semi-final spot.
Japan leapfrogged Kenya in the table and are now second in Group B with 10 points from two games.
On the other hand, winless Poland are at the bottom of table with one point from three games.
