JAIPUR/ALWAR: Sacked IPL commissioner Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir Modi was elected president of the Alwar District Cricket Association (ADCA) on August 22, said Rajasthan Cricket Association treasurer, Pawan Goyal, but some members of the local body have disputed that claim.

Goyal, who is also secretary of the Alwar body, said Modi’s son bought land in the district to become eligible for election. But three life members of the Alwar association told HT that the elections never took place.
Modi’s entry into ADCA is being seen as an attempt by Lalit Modi to bring him into the state body, RCA, so that the BCCI lifts its ban on it. Ruchir had denied a media report in July about his entry into RCA. “Media rumours of myself heading the Rajasthan Cricket Association are completely untrue,” he tweeted from @RuchirLModi handle in July. There’s been no comment from him or his father about the ADCA election.
