RIO DE JANEIRO: The Indian women’s hockey team produced a lacklustre performance as they were outplayed by USA 0-3 to slump to a third successive loss in the Rio Olympics here on Thursday.
Still seeking their first win, India remained as one of the bottom two teams (with Japan) with just one point from four matches. India will have to beat higher-ranked Argentina in their final pool fixture on Saturday for any chance of qualifying to the quarters.
Kathleen Bam (14th, 42nd minutes) struck twice while Melissa Gonzalez (52nd) scored the third.
