LONDON: International Cricket Council CEO David Richardson said he is not for life bans on every player found guilty of match-fixing, saying he was not “uncomfortable” with Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir’s comeback after serving a five-year ban. “Players who influence others should be treated much more severely than those who are influenced,” he said. He also said the withdrawal of many top golfers from the Rio Olympics made it harder for sports like cricket that were considering bids for Games status.
